I have the following key quote from the Colorado 1876 Constitution, Article II Bill of Rights up on my wall. I read it every working day. Twice, I have put my hand on my 1959 confirmation Holy Bible and sworn to uphold the Colorado constitution:
Colorado Constitution, 1876
Article II Bill of Rights, Section 1. Vestment of Political Power
All political power is vested in the people;
all government, of right, originates from the people,
is founded upon their will only, and
is instituted solely for the good of the whole.
"The Four Rivers District"
Our Colorado House District (HD) 26 includes all of Eagle County and all of Routt County.
I think of our district as the "Four Rivers District." Our four river valleys; Yampa, Colorado, Eagle, and Roaring Fork not only define our communities, but are essential to our environment and our outdoor recreational economy. Our rivers provide critical wildlife habitat, water for agriculture, snow making, municipalities, and recreation. We often define ourselves as from the Eagle Valley, the Roaring Fork Valley, the Colorado River Valley, or the Yampa Valley.
